Many believe that religion has failed to respond to the challenges in the world today, and, instead, it has become the busines of spirit.
In my work I am questioning the role religion has and is playing in the world. I have created symbolic forms to stand for Christianity, Islam, Judaism and Buddhism (even though Buddhism is really a philosophy rather then a religion). These four faiths, in their origin, intrinsically pure, are now ‘on trial’ for the chaos the world is in today.
The four faiths stand behind an orange and white striped tape marking a guarded, danger zone. In front of them walk four grave characters weighed down by their verdict – what will be the fate of the world, and what role does religion play in this fate?
